ISO 15189:2007

Accreditation of Laboratory Tests

Our laboratory, after the achievement of all requirements imposed by the respective regulations, has been granted by the Cyprus Organization for the Promotion of Quality with the Certificate of Accreditation  CYS EN ISO 151189:2007. This Certificate comprise a large number of laboratory tests that cover a wide range of medical specialties in the areas of Immunology, Biochemistry, Haematology, Immunofluorescence, HPLC, among others.

The CYS EN ISO 15189:2007 is an extreme exigent and authoritative International Directive Standard that provides the requirements to a Clinical Laboratory for Competence and Quality in the medical laboratory practice.

Because the services provided by our Clinical Laboratory are essential to the patients care and health we meet the needs of all patients and the clinical staff responsible for this medical issue, and the ISO is the system that provides the international regulations for Competence and Quality. The system includes the following issues:

• The services provided by our Clinical Laboratories comprise all stages of the lab’s work, from arrangements for examination request, proper patient preparation and identification, correct samples collection, transportation, storage, processing and examination of clinical samples, together with subsequent validation, quality assurance of methods, proper procedures performance.
• Accurate internal and external quality schemes, interpretation of results, reporting and advice, in addition to the considerations of safety both of personnel and patients,  and ethics in medical laboratory work.
• In certain cases it is also desirable that our Clinical Laboratory includes the examination of patients in consultation cases, and that those services actively participate in the prevention of disease.
