Remarks: Benzoylecgonine is an urine cocaine metabolite. The presence of cocaine through benzoylecgonine test should be confirmed by HPLC or MS. Benzoylecgonine is detectable in urine within 2-3 hours and for a period of 2-3 days after a single use. Cocaine is a CNS stimulant. It is a fine powder (HCl-Cocaine salt ) inhaled through the nose. If mixed with bicarbonate (Na2(CO3)) it appears as hard pieces (called "crack") and it can be smoked.
